Celebrities have it tough. I like that zen changed over time. Watching his transformation was interesting. This was a great read. This story was full of holes, not believable, and had some cringeworthy descriptions. Also, one thing in particular that was just plain irritating—the h substituted “Thor” for anytime “god” would be used. I think the author was going for cute, but it just landed on annoying and stupid. (Think, “Oh, my Thor!” Yeah.) Holes, there were plenty. Our h had a bad thing happen in high school. She goes on about spending years in therapy getting over it (her words) but doesn’t use any coping skills, or even seemed to gave learned any. And she freaks out a lot for someone who has “spent years in therapy and is over it”. This is just one example. Not Believable—Our h is practically crippled by anxiety, yet brings a drunk total stranger to her home and gives him a key within days. She hires an employee after a mere two minute conversation, does no kind of vetting, and hands over the shop to said now-creepy girl—again, within days. These are not the actions of someone who is afraid of their own shadow, but more a very stupid h. Cringeworthy descriptions—“She opened, and he massaged her tongue with his.” was used twice in the beginning. Ew. And don’t forget, “Oh, my Thor!” or “Thank Thor!” Think of all the times the word “god” is used in these books....Thor, Thor, Thor. Ugh. Gave up after skimming to the 56% mark and just couldn’t make myself go farther.
